Turoa and Whakapapa together make Mount Ruapehu the largest ski resort in New Zealand. Whakapapa is on the norhtern side of Mt. Ruapehu, whereas Turoa is on the southern side. Its also fascinating that Mount Ruapehu is also one of the most active volcanos in the world.
